Run flat bets at 49.5% and note the busts and the median result. Switch to martingale with the same settings: the median improves (most players finish slightly up) while the bust rate jumps and the average finishing bankroll drops. That is the whole story of "systems": they move outcomes around, they do not move the average, and the average is minus 1% of everything you wagered. The simulator uses a fair random generator, not Stake's provably fair seeds, but the multiplier formula and edge are the same.
Multiplier = 99 ÷ win chance in percent. At 49.5% the payout is 2x; at 10% it is 9.9x. The missing 1% is the house edge.
It raises the share of sessions that finish slightly up while raising the bust rate; the average result stays at minus 1% of total wagering. It does not change the edge.
